Serendipitously, lives change…
Really, it could only have been the work of the Holy Spirit… Dr. Michele Davis runs Serendipity Stables in York Center, Ohio established in 1986. Way before equine assisted therapy was being labeled, Dr. Davis was serving a community of people from all over the world with a multitude of dis-ease accompanied by a herd of horse healers. The base story of the movie “Adeline” was about events that happened at Michele’s farm, Serendipity Stables. I had the privileged of meeting her and visiting the stables and horses. As seemingly as one would think, I should have met Michele Davis prior to my involvement in the making of this film as we see our horses for what they are, not what they are capable of. Serendipity’s mission is “Making the world a better place, one fragile person at a time” … while The Medicine Horse Preservation aligns with their mission statement, Valhalla Hill Farm is a place where “Horses and Humans are here to bring healing or be healed.”
